On the 25th of January, uGrow and other Young Enterprise groups belonging to the Hertfodshire district were invited to the Intu centre in Watford to sell their products to shoppers-A trade fair as part of the YE competition Throughout the day, the groups were judged by entrepreneurs and professional business men on different aspects of what a company is, for example, customer service. At the end of the day we were awarded prizes for the Most Innovative Product and Best Overall Company. Over the whole day, uGrow sold samurai carrots, black tomatoes, yellow carrots, cucamelons, cucamelon seeds and more in educational gardening kits and terrarium kits to families looking for an educational way to have a bit of fun in the garden. After evaluating the day, we learnt some valuable lessons for our company: 1. When you work as a team, work gets done much more efficiently 2. Reaching the perfect compromise between letting shoppers come to you and going to shoppers is vital in selling a product 3. To put the customers leads before your own.
